The 3000’s Trekking in Sierra Nevada, is a route that runs Sierra Nevada from north to south through the entire string of three thousand peaks. From Cerro Pelao (3182m) to El Caballo (3013m), passing and crowning the most significant peaks include Mulhacen (3482m), Alcazaba (3366m), Veleta (3398m) and many others during the tour, up to 15 peaks over three thousand meters can be up in 4 days.

This route is very interesting in terms of nature, landscape and adventure, and medium-high difficult.

Description of the route:

Day 1: Refuge of Postero Alto (1750 m) – Cuneta de Vacares (2950 m) Since we began our ascent high Postero the first three thousand: Cerro Pelao (3,182 m). Continue to Cuneta de Vacares (2.950 mts) where we spend the night in bivouac (camping)

Day 2: Cuneta de Vacares (2980 m) - Poqueira Refuge (2500 m) We start northwest toward the Alcazaba (3,366 m), went down to the Puntal de Siete Lagunas and from here we continue our trek to Mulhacen, roof of the iberian peninsula (3,482 m). Descend to the Poqueira refuge where we spend the night in half board + picnic for the next day. Hot shower available.

Day 3: Poqueira Refuge (2500 m) – Carihuela Hut (3200 m) Itinerary begins with the ascent of the dry river valley to Cerro de los Machos and Pico Veleta, spending the day at Central sector summits of Sierra Nevada. Dinner and overnight in bivouac-camping in Lagunillos de la Virgen or Carihuela Hut (depending on conditions).

Day 4: Carihuela Hut (3200 m) - Cortijo Echevarria (1955 m). Tajos de la Virgen, Elorrieta (3,183 m), Cartujo (3152 m) and Cerro del Caballo (3,013 m). Descend to Cortijo Echevarria (1955 m). Where we collect an ATV. Transfer to Granada.

 

Requirements: Having mountain experience and a good physical. The trekkings have an average duration of 8-10 hours (including breaks) and slopes can exceed 1200m.

Equipment: Sleeping bag, mat, minimum 50L backpack, hiking shoes with ankle-high, mountain technical clothing, breathable shirt (not cotton), polar jacket, trekking pants, goretex type jacket, buff, warm clothes, sun hat , sunglasses, sunscreen, cutlery, food and water.
